The underlying truth is that except the search engine developers no one has the exposure to the exact algorithm. Therefore no one can guarantee and say that a particular website can be placed better than its competitor. On top of this commonly used search engines like Googles changes its algorithms frequently, on a regular basis. Every time the algorithm is changed the website rankings also change. So you have to know all the thumb rules in order to see your site rank high in the search engine.
