Answering Techniques of Different Search Engines March 7, 2006

Search operators Answers.com and Ask Jeeves boast  their ability to answer specific questions whereas other SEOs like Google, Yahoo and MSN have placed less emphasis on that aspect of searching.

Recently, all the SEOs have promoted the answering of specifics to a great extent.
However, the methods used by the different searchers vary greatly - Jeeves relies on fully automated, fairly standard search technology whilst Answers. com uses a combination of Google’s search and a database of detailed information input by human editors who’ve filled it from the answers to its users most raised queries.

Recent comparison testing reveals that Jeeves and Answers.com are comfortable with straight answers to straight questions than the others. Google scored pretty well but Yahoo and MSN failed to offer answers to specific questions within the first three pages of results .Few searchers go beyond the first two pages of results; therefore to them Yahoo and MSN are not at all reliable.
