Isn’t great? I am still wondering why there is so much scam and B.S. systems sold to agents every year. There is more money made on agents then agents are making themselves. But that’s the way this industry works.

Link Popularity- An useful SEO tool March 15, 2006

Supatra Chowdhury

What is link Popularity? Link popularity is a helpful SEO tool that gives a general representation of the total number of web-pages linked to a website (or individual web-page). Major search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN support the “link:” operator.  You have to type in “link:” (without the quotation marks) in front of the URL that you want to learn about.

How does this tool function? This tool will make a search in all the major search engines when you type in ‘link:’ infront of your preferred URL. It will give you the result of the total link count for each URL.

Does the result vary? However, the results will vary from one search engine to another. You will notice that the totals vary greatly because the figures shown actually represent the number of inbound-links that are fed to that search engine (which ofcourse varies on the size of their database). Search engines like Google even applies various filters against the inbound-links- as a result representation of inbound-links vary from one search engine to another.

Is link popularity important?. ? Link popularity is a major factor in influencing a site’s ranking in search results. Sites with more inbound-links generally rank higher than a similar site with less inbound links. However, anchor text is also a key factor besides inbound links to determining the positioning of a website.

$75,000 spent for online marketing and SEO March 12, 2006

Yesterday I talked to real estate broker who spent $75,000 for SEO and online marketing last year. To be honest I was totally shocked with the amount and determination this broker has for Internet.

Too bad that most of the money were wasted. This business is about know-how. There is much what can be done with minimum investment. I never spend more than couple of hundreds for new website, including design, SEO, linking, etc. And believe my results are often better than any competition.
