Why many real estate referrals don’t work January 21, 2006

This is something I saw on real estate discussion board for agents about referral system. Some agent was complaining about getting leads and having the lead provider tracking what is happening with the lead. Another agent gave this advice:

It is easy to get rid of the tracking. Just make contact with the potential client and then tell lead router that it is a bogus lead. You then can follow up with the client without Lead Router involved which is a nuisance.

To be honest that was really shock for me. I am personally generating a lot of business and referrals we sent to agents nationwide. But the truth is we are rarely getting deals closed. This is really opening my eyes how many agents thinks. If I sent someone referral I want to know what happened. That’s why we also have in place tracking system. How can some agents be so short sighted. They must know this behaviour will cut them from any future business and opportunities.
